A PROUD TRADITION OF SERVING THE STUDENTS OF SCOTCH PLAINS AND FANWOOD
The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Scholarship Foundation continues its tradition, begun in 1966, of assisting graduating high school seniors and current college students who reside in Scotch Plains and Fanwood, New Jersey achieve their goal of a college or other post-high school education. What initially began with scholarships totaling $1,200 awarded to four recipients in 1967 has grown into $167,325 awarded to 103 students in May of 2019. Since its inception, the Scholarship Foundation has proudly awarded $3,394,877 to 3,214 local students. Each scholarship is made available by the generosity of many individuals and local organizations and is considered an investment in the next generation with the return on that investment benefiting our community and communities around the globe.
DOLLARS FOR STUDENTS CANNING DRIVE!
On Saturday March 30th and Sunday March 31st, High School students will stand in front of these businesses ready for your generous support. In Scotch Plains at John’s Meat Market, Massa Pizza, Bagels Plus, Dunkin’ Donuts, Scotch Plains QuickChek and the Scotch Plains Post Office. In Fanwood at Fanwood Bagel, Fanwood QuickChek, the Fanwood Grille, the Railside Café, and the Fanwood Post Office. 100% of the funds raised directly support scholarship aid to high school and college students living in Scotch Plains and Fanwood. In 2019, 164 students have applied for scholarship assistance. In 2018 the Foundation distributed $156,150 to 97 students. Graduating seniors from public or private high schools and current college students who plan to attend a recognized post-high school institution in the fall of 2019 may apply for scholarship assistance. Recognized post-high school institutions include two and four year colleges, as well as business, technical and vocational schools. The Board of Trustees encourages all qualifying students to apply for these scholarships.
